Overview

The M-Series is the mid range Series of Belforti's line up. These instruments represent the entry in the world of fine lutherie, with decorative tops, high performance woods and electronics, in a form factor that represents modern lutherie. They are a continuity of the E-Series design, and bridge the gap between E & S-Series.

As a part of this Series, this instrument features the following :

• Master Grade Tonewoods

The Master-grade woods that are known for their stunning visual appeal as well as their tonal excellence. These aren't just any pieces of timber; they are carefully selected for their aesthetic beauty, tonal richness, and resonance.

All the Master Grade woods are rated between 81 and 90 on the Belforti rating.

• Faux Pickguard Aesthetics

The faux pickguard gives the M-Series their distinctive look. It maintains this classic look and brings coherence to the design, while preserving the grain pattern. It is made out of inlayed ebony.

We could never put a piece of plastic on these, not even transparent acrylic !

• Matching Premium Inlays

M-Series fretboard and headstock inlays are exclusively made out of the top wood you chose. They are extracted from the scraps of your top, and they are outline with a black inlayed ebony outline.

• Marē

The Marē body shape reimagines the Jazz-style bass with compact proportions and refined ergonomics.
Its smooth contours and balanced geometry ensure natural comfort, while the minimalist lines deliver a modern, understated aesthetic that feels timeless on stage or in the studio.

• Number of strings : 4

The traditional bass configuration. Lightweight, balanced, and essential for most musical styles. Offers simplicity, clarity, and a classic feel with optimal string spacing and comfort.

• Scale Length : Standard - 34"

The industry-standard bass scale length. Offers a balanced feel between string tension, playability, and clarity. Ideal for versatile playing styles and compatible with most bass string sets.

• Number of frets : 24 - Stainless Steel Jumbo

Extended-range configuration offering two full octaves per string. Ideal for soloing, technical playing, and modern styles requiring upper-register access.

• Neck Profile : S

Slim, fast neck shape with reduced thickness. Optimized for speed, smaller hands, or players seeking maximum comfort and agility.

• Radius : Modern 12" to 16"

Flatter fretboard radius for fast playing, low action, and effortless bending. Ideal for technical and contemporary playing styles.

• Body : American Redwood

Redwood is a rare and exceptional choice for instrument bodies — a tonewood as distinctive in sound as it is in appearance. Lightweight and highly resonant, it sits in a tonal sweet spot between the warmth of mahogany and the clarity of alder, producing a rich, complex fundamental with excellent sustain and natural compression. Its deep amber-to-sienna coloring, straight grain, and silky surface texture make it one of the most visually striking tonewoods available, and one of the least commonly seen on a boutique build.

• Neck : Birdseye Maple

Birdseye maple is one of the most sought-after tonewoods in boutique instrument building — prized equally for its visual character and its acoustic properties. The dense, tight grain delivers a fast, snappy attack with excellent note definition and long-term stability, resisting the seasonal movement that affects less consistent woods. No two birdseye pieces share the same figuring pattern, making every neck carved from it inherently unique.

• Fretboard : Birdseye Maple

Harder and brighter-sounding than rosewood or ebony, maple fretboards contribute a crisp, defined tone with a smooth, fast playing surface that responds well to both light and aggressive technique. Birdseye maple adds a visual dimension that sets it apart from plain maple — its characteristic swirling eye-shaped figure catching light differently across every board. A classic choice for players who want clarity, precision, and a fretboard that ages beautifully with use.
