About the Vēa 5 Essential
The Vēa 5 - Essentiall - Lorraine Coal is a 5-string bass crafted for musicians who value precision, elegance, and sonic depth. Its name and dark grey finish pay tribute to the industrial heritage of the Lorraine region, giving the instrument a distinct and understated visual identity.
Built around a lightweight red alder body, the Vēa 5 - Essential delivers a warm, focused tone with excellent clarity. The birdseye Norwegian maple neck adds stability and brightness, while the Macassar ebony fretboard provides a fast, responsive feel under the fingers. Rounded block inlays add a subtle visual detail without compromising the instrument's refined aesthetic.
With a 34-inch scale length, a 12-16 inch compound radius, and 24 medium frets, this bass offers a modern and versatile platform suited for a wide range of playing styles — from intricate fingerstyle lines to percussive slap techniques.
